Well sadly we must move ever quickly onwards to the next competition, but a huge congratulations to OpheliaWhispers MPMG and DamirSoull (who both donated their prizes to the next competition! Thanks guys!) who were the winners of the third Flutterings poetry competition 'Tokens'. They were amazing entries.
I do these competitions (as people keep asking me) because I love the poetry community, and love helping it bond together. When I see people who have entered commenting on each others poetry it makes me so happy. Supporting each other, encouraging each other... poetry is art too...
General Information:
You can win a three month deviant art subscription! First and Second place both get a 3 month sub and 3rd place gets a sneaky sample, a one month DA sub! For free! All you have to do is write a poem about the subject..
All I want you to do is write your poem about the theme (an original piece only, and a NEW piece, not already posted on DA) before the deadline, submit it to DA, then drop me a note or comment linking to it. I will comment on your poem and add it to the 'entry' list. In return please link to me on your journal and in the poems 'artists comments' so others can enter. ( : devflutterings : or : iconflutterings : without the spaces is fine )
So this month, for the ♥fourth♥ Flutterings Poetry competition, the theme is...
LOVE
The themes have been getting a little obscure and love is one of the favourite things for us to write about, so I thought I would open myself up to the barrage of entries, *quivers*. It really is that simple. Love poetry. Good luck.
The deadline is 11am March 21st 2008
The Super Important Rules:
- Prose will not be accepted
- All languages welcome but you must provide an english translation so we can study the meaning behind the words as well as the composition and words.
- Must not contain any images, text only
- You must link to this page in the artists comments and / or on your journal!!
- There is no age restriction on this competition
- Judges MAY win, but may not have any vote on their own pieces placing. The judgements are done by majority ruling and averages.
- Do not note me the poem, it must be posted as a deviation with the link in the artists comments!
- I must of received your note / comment by the time the deadline closes.
- Important the deadline is in GMT!
- The judges will not comment on your work until the competition closes (for fairness sake) and we cannot guarentee all poems will be replied to after the competition closes, but we do try to.
- Feedback about this competition is more than welcome ^_^
- If you want to donate your winning subscription to someone elses account let me know BEFORE I do it.
- Your entry must be new (therefore posted AFTER 27/2/2008)
- We reserve the right to change the rules up to the date of March 21st 2008.

Poetry competition (Ends this week)
Hi guys! I am running another poetry competition (off DA) and thought I'd tell you about it. It has cash prizes (paid via Paypal or similar online bank transfer options) and has some free entry options if you are eligible! It closes in a few days, so if you have a poem that fits the theme (Embers, Ignite) then go ahead and enter, or get writing! More information at www.CandleLiterature.com As we worked on the name CandleLit (@CandleLitPoets on FB, Insta and Twitter) and our tag line ‘Poetry that lights a spark‘ there was a reoccurring image of embers, almost dying, igniting flames like words sparking ideas in the audience at a poetry night. So we decided that we would make that our first competition’s theme, to help you get to know us as much as we get to know you through your entries! You can interpret this theme any way you like, there are no restrictions on that. You might want to go for the idea of something almost dying out, but surviving. The idea of something giving birth
Removal of some of my poems
I wanted to let my beloved followers know that I have permanently removed the following poems from DeviantART: Spooning, Halo, Roses, The Day The World Went Away, Solemn Timbre, Peppermint, Wildfire, Bridge Closed, In Anticipation of your Unfortunate Demise, Sweet Corn, Daffodying, Copper, The Last Light, Nesting, Being Sewage, White Noise, Marinating in the Pervading Loneliness, and Gangrenous.
You can now find these poems and 18 poems never posted on DeviantART exclusively in my new poetry collection 'Remains'.
