A Literature Competition
Its been a long time since I had a literature competition here on dA, since the first one years ago lit competitions have become much more popular - now there's loads of them! Check out the lovely lit GM's journal (LadyLincoln, StJoan, fllnthblnk and SparrowSong) to find loads more competitions if this one doesn't suit you ;]
The Theme
"The weather"
It can be taken metaphorically or literally (haha) but thats the theme. Remember we accept any poem with even the vaguest link to the theme. So you don't have to be writing *about* weather to mention weather. Think pathetic fallacy, think atmosphere, think tension and sunshine - whatever you want. Have fun with it Lit Critters ;]
The Rules
Visual poetry will be accepted
Judges will be eligible to win again, but not allowed to cast any vote on their own piece. (Volunteer to be a judge, click here)
Your entry must be sent in a note to me (PoetryOD)
All languages welcome but you must provide an english translation so we can study the meaning behind the words as well as the composition and words.
You must link to this page in the artists comments!
There is no age restriction on this competition
We must have received your entry by the time the deadline closes on the 30th of September.
The entry must be new. Therefore posted after 2nd of September 2009.
Important the deadline is in GMT!
The judges will not comment on your work until the competition closes (for fairness sake).
We reserve the right to edit this information, including the rules, up to the date of 26th of September.

PoetryOD x
Poetry competition (Ends this week)
Hi guys! I am running another poetry competition (off DA) and thought I'd tell you about it. It has cash prizes (paid via Paypal or similar online bank transfer options) and has some free entry options if you are eligible! It closes in a few days, so if you have a poem that fits the theme (Embers, Ignite) then go ahead and enter, or get writing! More information at www.CandleLiterature.com As we worked on the name CandleLit (@CandleLitPoets on FB, Insta and Twitter) and our tag line ‘Poetry that lights a spark‘ there was a reoccurring image of embers, almost dying, igniting flames like words sparking ideas in the audience at a poetry night. So we decided that we would make that our first competition’s theme, to help you get to know us as much as we get to know you through your entries! You can interpret this theme any way you like, there are no restrictions on that. You might want to go for the idea of something almost dying out, but surviving. The idea of something giving birth
Removal of some of my poems
I wanted to let my beloved followers know that I have permanently removed the following poems from DeviantART: Spooning, Halo, Roses, The Day The World Went Away, Solemn Timbre, Peppermint, Wildfire, Bridge Closed, In Anticipation of your Unfortunate Demise, Sweet Corn, Daffodying, Copper, The Last Light, Nesting, Being Sewage, White Noise, Marinating in the Pervading Loneliness, and Gangrenous.
You can now find these poems and 18 poems never posted on DeviantART exclusively in my new poetry collection 'Remains'.
