Here at TheWritePlace we have many ways to get involved. We want to be a hub of community activity, so if you have ideas that aren't listed, let us know! We are always open to engage in new ways to strengthen our beautiful community. In the meantime, here's the ways we have to get involved:




This team will be involved in the Today's Featured Writer feature of talented writers and their work. To be involved in this team you need a passion for sharing the talents of others, a basic understanding of html for journals and commitment to post regularly (how regularly is up for negotiation though!)

The group has a large and vast set of galleries, and in this early stage we would love to invite exceptional art works to those galleries so that newcomers can see them in action. If you love to scout out great work and get it noticed, this could be the role for you!

If you love to help writers hone their work, if you have particular expertise in editing or just like to share your thoughts about literature, this could be the role for you! This group encourages members to get involved in critiquing each others work (where wanted) and if you're a regular critiquer we'd love to have you involved in our team so that we can discuss behind-the-scenes things like how to encourage other people to critique, how to write positive critiques, how to make the critiques systems within our group more helpful to the lit community etc. Basically this role isn't so much as a job as a state of mind, if you have it, we want you!

Our chatroom TheWritePlace is of humble beginnings, but it seeks to recreate the much loved chatroom of the past #LitLove (2010). A room that encourages crossover between writers and other community members, that does not have a specific topic for discussion but encourages literature community members to meet each other, chat and get to know other people who have similar loves to you... writing!

In maintaining this we need a small group of moderators to be actively involved in keeping an eye on the room and the rules set within it. These people should be positive, helpful, online regularly, cool-headed in the face of conflict and most importantly, excited to get involved.

Chat Room Guides are there to welcome people to the room, instigate chat games such as Flash 5 Prompts, keep the room active and social so that when a new person enters they can see what kind of room it is, answer questions about the room and the group and generally just make chat a lovely place to be. These people should have a similar disposition to the Chat Room Moderators but without the responsibilities! Essentially, if you hang out in one chat room a lot you tend to know the chat room and its tenants very well. If you become one of those people, we want you involved in our team officially so that you can ask for our help or advice, or give feedback on how chat works for you and others at any time.

If none of these take your fancy but you still wanna get involved in our group how about joining the welcome team? The only thing you have to do in this team is welcome new members as they join and get to know them, ask them what they need from a group like this and make sure the admin are aware of our group members needs and are trying to meet 'em. If this sounds like your kinda job and you're friendly, online regularly and keen to be involved then this is a great way to get involved with us and make friends along the way!

We are looking for a small group of passionate individuals to help us keep our group professional looking and informative! This may include editing journals like our Rules, Archiving, answering FAQs etc. For this we're looking for passionate people with a good eye for presentation and spelling (English). A knowledge of html and journal skins would be a major plus!
