Hear me read it
I splashed black ink onto your spine;
unintentional as I frenzied and fawned
to try and catch the elusive thought.
You patiently waited for me to return,
out of breath and triumphant, with my trophy.
We hung it on wood next to the elk.
In my haste to write of the love of you,
I'd written in you. I'd marked you as mine,
as my words intoxicated your weak heart.
The ink had permeated your flesh, your blood,
until it silted, deep inside you,
a permanent, unedited, tattoo of our love.
this had a magnificent depth and seems like its strait from a deep thought process it held a lot of meaning for me personally. the originality of this was outstanding as well. very simple outside yet a complex underneath. the words were a bit more complex , and i adored it with the added effect giving this short poem an intelligent feel. the part that had the most meaning (in my experience) was " as my words intoxicated your weak heart" it kind of brought a story deeper into it maybe showing the girl is weaker and she accepts these words of afection because no one else will tell them to her. i encourage you to do more work.

Congrats for the DD Can you tell me the theme of the poem for me to understand better?
Love, poetry, writing about someone you love and trying to capture them and how often men fall in love with me writing about them rather than with me specifically
Congrats on your DD!
